Utah Valley set to compete at PING Cougar Classic this weekend in Provo

This Week
The Utah Valley men's golf team will make the short trip down University Parkway to compete in the 58th playing of the PING Cougar Classic, April 22-23, at Riverside Country Club in Provo.
  
Tournament Format
The tournament will be a 54-hole, three-round, two-day event that will begin with two rounds on Friday, April 22, with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. The final round will take place on Saturday, April 23 with a 9 a.m. start.
 
Quoting Coach Chris Curran 
"This almost feels like a home tournament for us. Our guys feel very comfortable at Riverside. Our goal is to keep the momentum going right into post season play."

Last Year at the PING Cougar Classic
Joseph Glenn tied for seventh at the PING Cougar Classic last year to lead Utah Valley to a tie for fifth on the 13-team leaderboard at Riverside Country Club in Provo. Glenn shot the fourth-lowest final round score of the tournament with a 4-under-par 68. He carded an impressive seven birdies on the day to tie for seventh at 6-under-par 210 (72-70-68) in the 83-player field. 
 
Tournament Field
The 16-team field will include host BYU, Boise State, California Baptist, Colorado, CSUN, Denver, Gonzaga, Nevada, New Mexico State, Saint Mary's, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, Utah Tech, Utah Valley, Wyoming, and Hawaii.

About the Course
The tournament will be played at the par 72, 7,142-yard Riverside Country Club in Provo, Utah.
 
Last Time Out
Utah Valley claimed its third team title of the season with a first-place finish at the UC Santa Barbara Intercollegiate on April 11 at Sandpiper Golf Club with a two-round score of 6-over-par 582 (292-290). Kai Iguchi shot a final-round even par 72 to lead the Wolverines with a third-place finish with a two-round 1-over-par 145 (73-72). The tie for third is the best finish of Iguchi's career. The senior golfer carded four birdies in his final round to go along with 10 pars.

Competing for UVU this week will be Brady McKinlay, Caden Weber, Joseph Glenn, Kai Iguchi, and Ethan Efford.
