PROVO, Utah — Utah Valley University wrapped up the multis at the BYU Robison Invitational on Wednesday, with Neal
Berkey leading the way with a third-place finish in the decathlon. Joey
Trageser finished 10th in the decathlon while
Madison Clark was sixth and
Meg Walker took 13th in the heptathlon.
Berkey's top finishes came in the long jump and javelin, where he finished second in both. Trageser won the 100-meter race while Berkey took third, and was fifth in the pole vault after eclipsing 4.65 meters, just off his personal outdoor record of 4.70. He finished with 6,488 points, which is a new personal best and moves him up from seventh to fifth in Utah Valley's outdoor top 10 in the decathlon.
Clark's best finish was fifth in the high jump and she was sixth in both the 100-meter hurdles and the 800. Walker's top finish came in the javelin with a sixth-place result.
The meet continues on Friday with the men's hammer starting at 11 a.m. Other men's field events on Friday include the triple jump, the high jump (featuring UVU's 4th-ranked event squad team), and the javelin while the women's field events will be the hammer (1 p.m.), long jump and pole vault. On the track, the trials in the 100 and 100-meter hurdles will take place beginning with the women's 100 trials at 2 p.m. The 400 and the 400-meter hurdles finals will wrap up day three of action on Friday afternoon.
