OREM—No. 19 Clemson scored a pair of second half goals to defeat the Utah Valley women's soccer team, 2-0, on Thursday night in front of 2,678 fans at Clyde Field.

Utah Valley falls to 1-1-1 on the season while the 19th-ranked Tigers improve to 2-0-1 overall.Â

"I thought that was the best performance that we've had all year," said Utah Valley head coach
Chris Lemay. "We were on the wrong side of the scoreboard obviously but Clemson's a good team. I thought we threw punches with them for the better part of 90 minutes. I can't be happy with the result, but I am happy with our performance. Our players left it all on the field tonight."

After a 0-0 tie at the half, Clemson got on the scoreboard just three minutes into the second period after Dani Davis put in a goal in the 48th minute to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.

Clemson's Jenna Tobia broke away and scored in the 87th minute to give the Tigers a 2-0 advantage.Â

Clemson outshot Utah Valley 12-6 on the night and had a slight 5-4 advantage on shots on goal. The Tigers had seven corner kicks to Utah Valley's one.
Faith Webber led the Wolverines with four shots, all on frame.

Sadie Beardall each had one shot.

Idalia Serrano played all 90 minutes in the box with three saves.Â

Utah Valley now travels to Pocatello, Idaho on Sunday to take on Big Sky Conference foe Idaho State. Kickoff is set for noon. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
