Utah Valley heads to St. George for a Saturday WAC contest in the Old Hammer Rivalry against Utah Tech. Tip is set for 2 p.m. from Burns Arena and the game will air on ESPN+.Â
The Wolverines (6-10, 1-6) got a career night in scoring from Tahlia White in Thursday's 78-68 loss to Grand Canyon. White scored 23 points and leads the team with an average of 8.1 points per game. Kylee Mabry is averaging 7.8 points and 2.4 steals, and Tessa Chaney leads the team with 5.9 rebounds per game. UVU leads the WAC and ranks 15th in the nation with 11.9 steals per game and is also 12th in the country with 28.8 bench points per contest. The Wolverines also lead the WAC in turnovers forced and turnover margin.Â

Tahlia White scored a career-high 23 points but Utah Valley was held off in its attempt to knock off WAC-leading Grand Canyon, 78-68, on Thursday night in the UCCU Center. White was 9-for-13 from the field- and made four of her six attempts from three. Kylee Mabry added 12 points, Tessa Chaney scored eight, and Ally Criddle finished with seven points and six assists for the Wolverines.
ABOUT THE OPPOSITION
Utah Tech (9-8, 3-3) defeated Southern Utah at home on Thursday, 78-71. The Trailblazers have four players averaging in double figures with Breaunna Gillen (15.8), Macie Warren (15.4), and Maddie Warren (15.3) all averaging north of 15 points per game. Maddie Warren scored 19 points in the earlier game between the teams on Dec. 2 to help Utah Tech to a 73-59 win in Orem. Mabry led UVU with a career-high 17 in that game.Â
UVU has faced UTU nine times since the Wolverines moved to NCAA Division I competition in 2003-04 and is 5-4 in those games, including a 1-1 record in St. George. The Trailblazers have won four straight in the series.
