PROVO, Utah — Utah Valley University's indoor track & field team added another school record and 13 total top 10 marks as action wrapped up at the BYU December Invite on Thursday.
Jacob Egan set a new school record and was followed by
Ethan Mabey's No. 2 time in the 1,000-meter run. Egan finished in 2:34.88 with Mabey was right behind in 2:36.81. For the week, the Wolverines totaled five new program records and 31 top 10s.
Utah Valley also recorded a pair gold finishes during the meet.
Caleb Washington was first in the men's triple jump with a mark of 13.76 meters to put him at No. 7 all-time.
Aiden Garnett was the top finisher in Wednesday's high jump as he eclipsed 2.09 meters to take first place.
Other top 10 marks on Thursday included three entries into the men's 300-meter record book.
Cameron Franklin recorded the No. 2 mark with a time of 34.18, Caidan Cooper notched the No. 5 time (34.52), and
Bode Jensen is now No. 7 in the top 10 with his time of 34.67.
Rylan Anderson and
Max Clemons record the second and third-best marks in the 500. Anderson's No. 2 mark came with a time of 1:05.06 and Clemons, who was also No. 2 in the 600 behind
Isaiah Archer's school record time on Tuesday, finished the 500 on Thursday in 1:05.12.
Kade Thompson matched his PR in the 60-meter dash, finishing in 6.76 seconds.
Abdulsalam Farah recorded the No. 5 time in the 3,000, finishing in an altitude-adjusted time of 8:15.91.
The women also had four more top 10s set on Thursday.
Jocelyn Phillips had a big collegiate debut, hitting the second-best mark in the women's pole vault at UVU, eclipsing 3.73 meters.
Ella Hopper's time of 7.60 seconds in the 60-meter dash puts her at No. 4,
Kali McEuen set the seventh-best 300-meter time (40.77), and
Makaylie Roberds debuts at the No. 10 time in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing in 8.92 seconds.
Thursday's success comes after the throwers opened their season with an impressive showing on Tuesday. The squad had 14 top 10 marks on Tuesday with school records from
Alyssa Logan in the weight throw and
Grace Degarimore and
Trevor Hill in the discus. Click
