OREM, Utah — Utah Valley head softball coach Cody Thomson has announced his team's 2025 schedule, featuring three non-conference tournaments, eight games against Power 4 conference opponents, 11 games against in-state rivals, and a 24-game round robin WAC schedule.
"I am excited about this year's schedule. It promises a great balance of strong teams and some sunny locations to play in February," said head coach Cody Thomson. "I am particularly looking forward to going to Georgia to face the Bulldogs. I have never coached there before, and I am eager to experience playing in the South."
The Wolverines will open the 2025 campaign on Feb. 7-9 at the NorCal Kickoff, hosted by Sacramento State and UC Davis. UVU will face Idaho State, Boise State, and San José State in addition to the two host schools.
Utah Valley will then head to Arizona State for the Littlewood Classic on Feb. 14-16. The Wolverines will go against some of their strongest competition of the non-conference schedule, facing off with the host Sun Devils, Washington, and Oregon in addition to North Dakota and Belmont.
The next weekend will be a homecoming of sorts for two of Utah Valley's seniors in Megan Gibbs and Angelique Mann, as the Wolverines will head to Athens, Georgia from Feb. 21-23 for the Georgia Classic. Gibbs is from nearby Lilburn, Georgia, and Mann is from Tallahassee, Florida, which is about 5 hours south of Athens. The trip to Georgia will be the furthest east the team has traveled since 2014 when the team went to Florida.
At the Georgia Classic, Utah Valley will play two games apiece against Syracuse and Appalachian State and one against the host Bulldogs. The Wolverines will then head to Atlanta for a doubleheader against the Georgia State Panthers on Feb. 25. Utah Valley has never faced any of the opponents it will play during the Georgia road trip.
After a week off, Utah Valley will open WAC play with a three-game set at California Baptist on March 7-8. The Wolverines will also play road WAC series at Utah Tech (March 21-22), Tarleton State (April 11-12), and Seattle U (April 25-26).
Utah Valley's home series include Grand Canyon (March 14-15), UT Arlington (March 28-29), Abilene Christian (April 4-5), and Southern Utah (May 2-3). All WAC series are scheduled to have a doubleheader Friday and a single game Saturday.
The Wolverines will play a total of six midweek non-conference games, including five against in-state opponents. Utah Valley will play single games at Utah State (March 12) and at home against Idaho State (April 15).
The Wolverines will play a home-and-home series against BYU and Weber State. UVU will host the Cougars on March 25, then play in Provo on April 1. The Wolverines will host Weber State on March 18 then travel to Ogden on April 8.
The season will culminate with the WAC Tournament, set to be hosted by California Baptist in Riverside, California. The tournament will run from May 7-10. The format will be the same as recent years, with the top four teams advancing to the double elimination bracket and seeds five through eight playing a single elimination play-in game. The top two seeds receive a double bye to the quarterfinal round.
All Utah Valley home games are free admission, and are scheduled to be broadcast on ESPN+. Live stats for all home games and most road and neutral site games will be available at UVUStats.com.
