OREM, Utah — Utah Valley men's soccer head coach Kyle Beckerman has announced his team's 2024 schedule, featuring non-conference trips to California and Florida, nine home games, and a nine-game WAC schedule.
Headlining the home slate is a showdown with 2023 College Cup semifinalist Oregon State on Sept. 25. The nine home games are tied for the most in a season, and the most since 2019. Utah Valley enters the season on a program-record 12 game unbeaten run at Clyde Field that dates back to the 2022 season opener.
The Wolverines open the 2024 campaign with a two-game road trip in Northern California. UVU will open the season against the Sacramento State Hornets on August 22 before making a short trip west to take on the UC Davis Aggies on August 25.
Utah Valley opens the home slate on August 29 with a first-ever meeting against the UC San Diego Tritons, who are entering their first season as a full-status Division I member.
UVU then heads to Florida for a pair of games at Florida Atlantic and Florida Gulf Coast. The Wolverines face FAU on Sept. 5 and FGCU on Sept. 8.
Utah Valley returns home for the next six games, including the final four of the non-conference slate. Cal Poly and Lindenwood come to Clyde Field on Sept. 13 and 16 respectively. UC Santa Barbara and Oregon State wrap up the non-league portion of the schedule on Sept. 19 and 25. Lindenwood, UCSB, and Oregon State will each be making their first trips to Orem.
The WAC season opens on Oct. 3 with the Wolverines hosting defending regular season champs Seattle U. San Jose State returns to Clyde Field for the first time since 2021 on Oct. 5.
UVU hits the road for the next three games, at UTRGV, GCU, and Air Force. Those games will take place on Oct. 10, 13, and 20 respectively. The Oct. 10 game at UTRGV will be the Wolverines' first in Edinburg since 2019, as the scheduled game in 2021 was canceled due to weather.
The final two home games will be on Oct. 24 and 28. Utah Valley hosts UNLV before closing out the home season with the Old Hammer Rivalry against Utah Tech.
UVU heads to Southern California for the final road trip of the season. The Wolverines will face off with San Diego State for the first time as conference foes on Oct. 31 before heading to Riverside to face defending WAC tournament champions California Baptist on Nov. 3.
The Wolverines will also host a trio of exhibition games against regional JUCO foes before officially opening the season. UVU will host Snow College on August 9, USU-Eastern on August 13, and Salt Lake CC on August 16.
The 2024 WAC Tournament will be hosted by GCU in Phoenix, Ariz., from Nov. 10-16. Further details about start times and exhibition games for the 2024 season will be posted at a later date.
