ARLINGTON, Texas — Utah Valley sophomore Paxton Maxwell has been named the University Credit Union Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men's Golfer of the Month for September.
Maxwell turned in a strong opening month to the 2025-26 season, collecting a pair of top-10 finishes and two under-par tournament totals. He posted a career-best solo fourth-place finish at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational at Air Force with an 8-under-par 208 (68-67-73) in the 115-player field. Maxwell tallied 16 birdies in the tournament, the third most in the field, including eight in the opening round. He also led all players on par-5 scoring at 9-under-par, averaging 4.25 strokes on those holes.
The Wolverine sophomore followed that up with a seventh-place showing at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic, hosted by Rice. Maxwell carded rounds of 71-72-68 for a 5-under-par 211, highlighted by 13 birdies and an eagle on the 537-yard, par-5 first hole during the final round.
Maxwell's award is the first monthly honor of his career and adds to his already impressive start to the season as one of the WAC's top players.
