Wolverines travel to Salt Lake City for Tuesday night game at Utah

OREM, Utah – Utah Valley women's basketball plays its first game in Utah for the 2025-26 season on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. MT against Utah. The Wolverines will look to start 3-0 in back-to-back seasons for the first time in program history.

Tuesday's in-state rivalry game will air on ESPN+ with veteran Utah announcer Tony Parks on the call alongside longtime Utah head coach Elaine Elliott. Live stats will be available at gouvu.com/stats.
 
LAST TIME OUT
Utah Valley is coming off a 64-60 win last Wednesday over Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles. Tessa Chaney led the Wolverines with 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting. Amanda Barcello added 12 points and four assists, while Kylee Mabry scored 10. The Wolverines overcame an early LMU lead after the first quarter and took a 31-26 advantage into halftime. They held off a Lions comeback in the second half, building an eight-point lead midway through the fourth quarter.
 
ABOUT UTAH
Utah enters the contest 2-0 after wins over Sioux Falls and Utah State. The Utes are led by Gavin Petersen, in his second season as head coach. Four players are averaging double figures, led by Evelina Otto and Avery Hjelmstad, who both average 15 points per game. The team is averaging 11 3-pointers per game, ranking among the nation's best early this season.
 
WOLVERINES SEEK HISTORIC START
The Wolverines aim to begin the 2025-26 season with a 3-0 record. They have started 3-0 four times in the Division I era, including last season. A win over Utah would mark the first time the program has opened back-to-back seasons at 3-0.
 
UP NEXT
Utah Valley will open a three-game homestand beginning Friday, Nov. 14, at 6 p.m. MT against Pepperdine. The Waves are 2-0 with wins over Cal State Fullerton and Westmont. UVU will also host Benedictine on Monday, Nov. 17, and Weber State on Thursday, Nov. 20.
