Men's basketball is coming off of a perfect 3-0 record in the Cancún Challenge, including a win over preseason Big West favorite UC Irvine at the UCCU Center. Women's basketball is off to another strong start, with home wins over Pepperdine and in-state rival Weber State. Wrestling kicked off year two of the Adam Hall era in style with a home win over No. 14 Stanford. 

Men's basketball opens WAC play with a big home matchup against preseason favorite and future Big West rival California Baptist on December 29, then hosts in-state rival Southern Utah on Jan. 8. Women's basketball tips off the new year with a Texas two-step against Tarleton State and Abilene Christian on Jan. 1 and 3. Wrestling hosts a trio of Big 12 duals in January, highlighted by a visit from the Missouri Tigers on Jan. 17.
