Wolverines Complete Two Rounds of Match Play at Great River Cup

GULFPORT, Miss. – The Utah Valley women's golf team completed two rounds of match play Monday at the Great River Cup at Windance Country Club, battling through tough competition with one final round remaining on Tuesday.

"What a beautiful place and host Windance Country Club has been," said Utah Valley head coach Juli Erekson. "Match play has been a fun change of pace this week. Battling illness, I'm proud of the girls for playing through the challenges and doing their best. Chloe pushed through in round one to secure a half-point for the team. Mia and Rylie led the team in round two."

Utah Valley opened the tournament against ULM, falling 4.5-0.5. Chloe Jang secured the team's only half-point, fighting to a tie in her match. The Wolverines showed improvement in the afternoon session against Little Rock, with Mia Pace earning a 2-up victory and Rylie Rodriguez battling to a tie, but UVU ultimately fell 3.5-1.5.

The Wolverines will conclude tournament play Tuesday morning in the final round at Windance Country Club.
