BANDON, Ore. – Utah Valley sophomore Dane Huddleston sits atop the leaderboard after firing a 4-under-par 67 in the opening round of the Bandon Dunes Championship at Bandon Trails.

As a team, UVU carded a 15-over-par 299 and is tied for third in the 16-team field, just eight strokes behind leader Oregon (+7).

Huddleston, who recorded eight birdies in his round, is tied for first among the 100-player field.

Paxton Maxwell shot a 4-over-par 75 and is tied for 21st, with one birdie and 13 pars on the day. Ryan Seamons sits tied for 41st after posting a 7-over-par 78, which included two birdies.

Clement Lepine carded an 8-over-par 79 (T-54), while Zachary Erskine shot a 12-over-par 83 (T-80). Competing as an individual, Ethan Efford posted a 16-over-par 87 (T-97).

Utah Valley will continue play on Monday, teeing off in a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
