LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. — Utah Valley's
Chloe Jang shot a 2-over-par 74 in Wednesday's final round of the WAC Championship at Wigwam Golf Club to lead the Wolverines with a tie for eighth place. Jang finished with a three-round total of 4-over-par 220 (76-70-74).
As a team, Utah Valley posted a final-round 20-over-par 308 to finish eighth on the nine-team leaderboard with a three-round total of 57-over-par 921 (319-294-308). Tarleton State captured the WAC title with a 12-over-par 876.
Jang's closing-round 74 featured two birdies and 12 pars. Her eighth-place finish ties her second-best of the season and marks her third top-10 performance of the year.
Valentina Zuleta carded a 5-over-par 77 in the final round to finish tied for 25th with a three-round total of 12-over-par 228 (77-74-77). She recorded one birdie on the front nine and 12 pars on the day.
Maria Ortiz shot a 6-over-par 78 and finished in a tie for 35th with a 23-over-par 239 (84-77-78), highlighted by three birdies in her final round.
Rylie Rodriguez posted a 7-over-par 79 on Wednesday to finish alone in 38th place at 27-over-par 243 (82-82-79). She tallied one back-nine birdie and 11 pars.
Pati Uluave, who joined the lineup for the second and third rounds, carded a 9-over-par 81 in the final round. She finished with a two-round total of 10-over-par 154 (73-81), including two birdies and nine pars on Wednesday.
Tarleton State's Louise Depadt claimed the WAC individual championship with a three-round score of 10-under-par 206.
