ARLINGTON, Texas — Utah Valley swept this week's WAC Track and Field Athlete of the Week awards, as Alex Hartshorn and Reagan Doman were named the WAC Track Athletes of the Week and Andrew Turner and Maddie Passmore claimed the WAC Field Athlete of the Week honors.
Hartshorn, a sophomore from Alpine, Utah, made program history on Saturday at Weber State with the first indoor sub-four-minute mile, posting an altitude-converted time of 3:59.72. Hartshorn is the only athlete in Utah Valley Track history to run a sub-four mile after reaching also that milestone during the 2025 outdoor season.
Doman, a native of Highland, Utah, posted an impressive 3k time of 9:31.83 in her first race as a Wolverine to claim the No. 5 all-time spot in that event. Doman joined the team just a few weeks ago after previously running unattached. Doman ran her freshman season at BYU back in 2021-22.
Turner, a junior from Estacada, Ore., set a new PR in the weight throw on Friday to improve his standing at No. 6 all-time on the UVU leaderboards. Turner bested his previous high of 16.93, set at the WAC Indoor Championships last season.
Passmore, a junior from Clovis, Calif., built on a strong start to the season with another solid performance in the long jump. Passmore finished second overall on Friday with a leap of 5.71m. In her first meet as a Wolverine back in December, Passmore jumped her way up to No. 2 all-time in the long jump with a mark of 5.84m, just .02 off her indoor PR.
The Wolverines will be back in action this week at the Snake River Open, hosted by Idaho State this Thursday and Friday. Thursday's action will begin at 1 p.m. MT, with Friday kicking off at noon.
