OREM—Utah Valley will close out its home schedule on Saturday afternoon as the Wolverines host Abilene Christian at the UCCU Center. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. MT. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+, with radio coverage available on the Wolverine Sports Network/ESPN The Fan.
Saturday's matchup marks the final home game of the regular season for Utah Valley and will serve as Senior Night, with Noah Taitz and Hayden Welling honored prior to tipoff. The Wolverines enter the contest looking to extend their home winning streak to 27 games and secure a second straight undefeated season at the UCCU Center. Utah Valley also enters the weekend atop the Western Athletic Conference standings with three games remaining in the regular season as the Wolverines continue their push toward a second straight WAC regular-season title.
Utah Valley (21-7, 11-4 WAC) enters Saturday following a 79-72 win over Tarleton State on Thursday night in Orem. Isaac Davis scored a career-high 24 points to lead five Wolverines in double figures as UVU maintained sole possession of first place in the WAC standings. The Wolverines shot 50 percent from the field and controlled the paint, outscoring the Texans 44-32.
The Wolverines have been dominant at home this season, posting a perfect 14-0 record while owning the fourth-longest active home winning streak in Division I at 26 straight games. Utah Valley is averaging more than 85 points per game at the UCCU Center while allowing just over 62 points per contest.
Trevan Leonhardt continues to lead Utah Valley's balanced attack, averaging 11.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 2.1 steals per game. Leonhardt remains the only player in Division I this season averaging at least 11 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals per contest. Jackson Holcombe leads the Wolverines in scoring at 15.5 points per game while also pacing the team in rebounding and steals.
Abilene Christian (13-15, 5-10 WAC) enters Saturday following an 85-81 road loss at Utah Tech on Thursday night. Cbo Newton scored a career-high 27 points and Bradyn Hubbard added 23 in the loss as the Wildcats battled back late before falling short. ACU turned the ball over just seven times, matching its season low.
The Wildcats are known for their defensive pressure and physical style of play and have been competitive throughout conference play. Saturday will mark the third meeting between Utah Valley and Abilene Christian this season, with the teams splitting the first two matchups.
