Blackham Earns All-WAC Second Team, All-Defensive Honors

3/10/2026 6:56:00 PM

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Western Athletic Conference announced its postseason awards on Tuesday night ahead of the start of the Air Force Reserve WAC Basketball Tournament on Wednesday. Utah Valley's Cambree Blackham earned All-WAC Second Team honors and a spot on the All-WAC Defensive Team.

Blackham, a sophomore from Lehi, Utah, is a two-time All-WAC honoree after earning All-Freshman Team honors during the 2024-25 season. In her first year as the starting point guard for UVU, she has set new career highs. This season, she has averaged 9.5 points and 4.2 assists per game to help lead the Wolverines' offense. Her 19 points on Feb. 26 against Tarleton State marked a season high, as she went 6-for-10 from the field and knocked down three 3-pointers to match a season best.

As a distributor, Blackham recorded a career-high nine assists this season against Kansas City in a 64-60 win over the Roos. She also added an eight-assist performance in UVU's first-ever road win at California Baptist this season.

Blackham also earned a spot on the WAC All-Defensive Team. This season, she broke the single-season steals record and currently has 80 steals entering the WAC Tournament on Thursday. Her season and career high came against Weber State, where she tallied eight steals in a win over the Wildcats, tying the school record for most steals in a game. Her defensive efforts have helped Utah Valley set a new team record for steals in a season.

Abilene Christian guard Payton Hull was named WAC Player of the Year, while 2026 regular-season champion California Baptist swept the other major awards. Emma Johansson was named Defensive Player of the Year, Lauren Olsen earned Freshman of the Year honors, Khloe Lemon was named Sixth Player of the Year and Jarrod Olson was selected as Coach of the Year.

Blackham and the Wolverines will open the 2026 Air Force Reserve WAC Women's Basketball Tournament on Thursday, March 12, at 1 p.m. MT/noon PT against No. 5-seeded Tarleton State at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. With a win, UVU would advance to face top-seeded California Baptist in the semifinals on Friday.
