OREM, Utah — Tatum Hall hit a home run for the third time in the last four games as Utah Valley dropped a Monday afternoon contest to the Nevada Wolf Pack, 10-2 in five innings.
The Wolf Pack bats were as advertised, as Hannah Di Genova hit her Mountain West-leading 13th home run of the season and leadoff hitter Madison Clark came a double short of the cycle to push her average over .500.
Clark and Di Genova each hit solo homers in the top of the first to give Nevada an early 2-0 lead.
Utah Valley answered right back with a home run of their own, as Hall launched a two-run shot over the fence in left. The Wolverines threatened for more, getting two more runners on but couldn't capitalize.
Nevada took the lead for good with a four-spot in the second, then pushed the lead into run-rule territory with four in the fourth.
UVU's best scoring chance outside of the first inning came in the second, as the Wolverines loaded the bases for Hall, who smashed a line drive right at the center fielder to end the inning.
Ruby Anderson gave the Wolverines a strong outing out of the bullpen, striking out three over 1.2 IP and retiring the last four in order.
Utah Valley will be back in action tomorrow night as the Wolverines host crosstown rival BYU in the first of two meetings between the teams this season. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. MT, and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
