BANDON, Ore.—Colby Hutchens fired a 2-under-par 69 to lead the Utah Valley men's golf team in the opening round of the Bandon Dunes Championship on Sunday at Pacific Dunes Golf Course.

Hutchens recorded five birdies during his round and sits tied for 17th on the 96-player leaderboard at 2-under-par.

Paxton Maxwell carded a 1-under-par 70 and is tied for 27th after recording six birdies in the opening round. Ty Brady finished the day at even-par 71 and is tied for 43rd, while Isaiah Ellis shot a 1-over-par 72 and is tied for 53rd.

Elliot Bond carded a 4-over-par 75 and is tied for 79th.

Andrew Hawk, competing as an individual, shot a 3-over-par 74 and is tied for 72nd.

As a team, Utah Valley shot an even-par 284 and sits tied for eighth place on the 15-team leaderboard after the opening round.

Utah Valley will continue play at the Bandon Dunes Championship with the second round on Monday.
