ST. GEORGE—Chloe Jang and Valentina Zuleta each fired 1-under-par 71s to lead Utah Valley in the final round of the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational on Sunday at Sunbrook Golf Club.
Jang's 1-under-par 71 in the final round moved her up eight spots on the leaderboard into a tie for ninth place with a three-round score of 5-over-par 221 (77-73-71). Jang carded a near-flawless final round with two back-nine birdies and 15 pars.
Zuleta also climbed eight spots on the leaderboard with her 1-under-par 71, finishing tied for 16th with a three-round score of 9-over-par 225 (78-76-71). She highlighted her final round with an eagle on the 237-yard par-4 14th hole and added a birdie on No. 2.
As a team, Utah Valley shot a final-round 8-over-par 296 to finish fourth on the nine-team leaderboard with a three-round total of 42-over-par 906 (310-300-296).
Rylie Rodriguez shot a 5-over-par 77 in the final round to finish tied for 26th with a three-round score of 15-over-par 231 (78-76-77). Mia Pace carded a 4-over-par 76 in the final round to also finish tied for 26th at 15-over-par 231 (80-75-76).
Maria Ortiz recorded a 6-over-par 78 in the final round to finish tied for 31st with a three-round 16-over-par 232 (79-75-78). Alyssa Butterfus shot a 5-over-par 77 in the final round to finish tied for 34th with a three-round total of 18-over-par 234 (77-80-77).
Pati Uluave, competing as an individual, shot an 11-over-par 83 in the final round to finish 47th with a three-round 28-over-par 244 (85-76-83). Jacklyn Gonzalez, also competing individually, shot a 5-over-par 77 in the final round to finish 50th with a three-round score of 32-over-par 248 (90-81-77).
Utah Valley will continue its spring season at the Bobcat Desert Classic, April 13-14, at the Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Arizona.
