McKINNEY, Texas—Colby Hutchens fired a 3-under-par 69 in Tuesday's second round to move into a tie for second and lead the Utah Valley University men's golf team at the 2026 WAC Men's Golf Championship at the Dye Course at the Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch in McKinney, Texas.
Utah Valley remains in fifth place in the team standings at 21-over-par 597 (303-294), trailing fourth-place California Baptist by two strokes. Tarleton State leads the field at 10-over-par 586, followed by UT Arlington at 12-over and Abilene Christian at 15-over.
Hutchens opened his round with three straight birdies and went on to card a 3-under 69, moving him to 2-under-par 142 (73-69) through 36 holes. He enters the final round just five shots back of individual leader Arth Sinha of UT Arlington at 7-under-par 137.
Isaiah Ellis also posted a strong round for the Wolverines, carding a 1-under-par 71 to move into eighth place at 3-over-par 147 (76-71). Ty Brady is tied for 21st at 8-over-par 152 (75-77), while Paxton Maxwell is tied for 28th at 13-over-par 157 (80-77). Andrew Hawk rounds out the UVU lineup in 30th at 14-over-par 158 (79-79).
The final round of the championship will tee off Wednesday morning. Utah Valley's tee times (Central Time) are set for 8:50 a.m. with Andrew Hawk, 9:00 a.m. with Paxton Maxwell, 9:10 a.m. with Ty Brady, 9:20 a.m. with Isaiah Ellis and 9:30 a.m. with Colby Hutchens.
