Biography

At Utah Valley...

Senior (2017): Placed fifth in the 6K at UNLV with a personal record of 19:08.0 to round out UVU’s perfect score and victory… made his return in the UVU Invitational after a two-year hiatus, placing 12th in the three-mile race (16:13.1)… placed 13th in the SUU Color Country Invitational 6K with a time of 19:15.1… recorded a season-best 8K time of 25:06.3 at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational... concluded career in the 10K (33:06.5) at the NCAA Mountain Regionals in Logan, Utah…

Junior (2015): Named first-team All-WAC… helped Wolverines to a third straight WAC Championship after placing sixth in the men’s 8K race with a time of 24:40.31… won the Color Country Invitational 6K race with a time of 19:20.9… placed 12th at the BYU Autumn Classic (20:42.2, four-miles)… helped squad to 35th place at the Pre-National Invitational hosted by Louisville…  placed 69th in the NCAA Mountain Regional Championships to help the Wolverines finish 35th as a team.

SOPHOMORE (2014): Named WAC Athlete of the Week Oct. 7-13... participated in six events for the Wolverines...three top-ten finishes... qualified for NCAA Division I Mountain Region Cross Country Championships... placed sixth (25:22.2) at WAC Championships... finished 51st (25:25.7) at UC Riverside Invitational... also finished 61st (24:40.2) at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational... placed fourth (20:14.4) at Color Country Invitational.

FRESHMAN (2010): Competed his freshman campaign for the Wolverines in 2010.

Before Utah Valley...
Region 1 Champion in 2009... helped Davis High School to 5A Utah State Championship in 2008.

Personal ...
Graduated from Davis HS in 2010 with a 3.1 GPA... son of Steve and Rhonda Petty... served an LDS Church mission in Dalls, Texas... plans to major in secondary education/physical education.
