MESQUITE, Nevada - The Utah Valley State baseball had its chances over the weekend but fell short to Southern Utah three times. Sunday the T-Birds edged Utah Valley 7-6, scoring in their final at-bat to win it, followed by a 10-0 shutout of the Wolverines.
Utah Valley dropped to 0-3 on the season while SUU improved to 6-1. Junior Brad Hales went 5-17, with hits in all three games while Nick Connor played in the first two games, going 4-7.
Up next the Wolverines will travel to Air Force for two games each with Air Force and Division I newcomer North Dakota State. They will face NDSU Friday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a 1:00 p.m. start against Air Force. Saturday Utah Valley and Air Force will play at 1:00 p.m. followed by the weekend finale Sunday at 10:00 a.m. against North Dakota State.
