Orem, Utah - Utah Valley State (2-2 in duals) will resume its dual season as the Wolverines head to Portland to take on the Portland State Vikings (0-3) Saturday evening.
The match will be the first non-tournament dual for Utah Valley and its second dual date of the season. Three of the past four times out, the Wolverines have participated in open format tournaments.
Portland State and UV have met three previous times with the Wolverines winning all of the three matchups. Utah Valley swept two head-to-head duals with the Vikings last season, winning 30-15 Jan. 11, in Portland and 30-17 Feb. 12, in Orem.
"I expect us to be able to compete this weekend," Utah Valley State head coach Greg Williams said. "Portland State is a storied program but they, like us, are building now."
The Wolverines are coming of their toughest tournament of the season at the Las Vegas Cliff Keen Invitational and they face a tough future when they head to the Lone Star Duals.
"Our guys are working hard," Williams said. "They are improving and they have a good attitude."
