OREM, Utah--Fresh off a 2-0 shutout win over Southern Utah on Friday night, the Utah Valley University women's soccer team now travels to play the University of Oklahoma on Sunday at OU Soccer Complex in Norman.
Utah Valley enters Sunday's matchup against Oklahoma with a 2-1-0 overall record. The Wolverines picked up a 2-0 shutout over in-state rival Southern Utah Friday night in the team's home opener. The win extended UVU's Clyde Field unbeaten streak to 11 matches.
Abby Jameson scored the game winner, firing a shot from 25 yards out into the upper right 90 in the 24th minute. The goal was the first of Jameson's collegiate career.
Alexis Peterson helped secure the win in the 90th minute as she received a pass from
Breanna DeWaal down the right side of the field and put it past the keeper for the score.
Courtney Stromberg was also credited with the assist on the goal. Peterson has now registered a goal in each of UVU's three matches this season.
Peterson leads the Wolverines with three goals on the year. Four other Wolverines have each scored one goal this season. DeWaal leads the Wolverines with 11 shots, including a team-best five shots on goal.
Breanna McCarter ranks second with eight shots, including a pair on net.

ABOUT OKLAHOMA
After opening the season with a 1-1 tie against South Carolina, Oklahoma has won two straight with victories over Loyola Marymount (4-1) and Oklahoma State (1-0) to up its record to 2-0-1. The Sooners defeated in-state rival Oklahoma State 1-0 on Friday night at home. OU's Kaylee Dao put the ball in the back of the net in the 81st minute to secure the win over OSU. Dao headed in the score off a cross from senior midfielder Shiloh Price to put the home team on top. Dao is the team leader in goals with two this season. The Sooners have an unbeaten home streak 11 matches at John Crain Field. OU went 6-0-2 at home last season and is now 2-0-1 this year. Oklahoma's last loss at home was a setback to Arkansas on Nov. 14, 2014. The Sooners are coached by Matt Poetter who is in his fifth season with the team. He holds a 33-38-13 record at OU. Oklahoma was picked third in the Big 12 preseason poll, the highest preseason Big 12 ranking in the program's history.
FIRST-EVER MEETING AGAINST THE SOONERS
Utah Valley and Oklahoma will meet on the pitch Sunday for the first time in program history. The match will mark the second time UVU has faced an opponent from the Big 12 conference as the Wolverines defeated Baylor 2-1 in Orem on Aug. 29, 2014.

UVU DOWNS IN-STATE RIVAL SOUTHERN UTAH FRIDAY NIGHT IN HOME OPENER
Utah Valley kept its unbeaten streak at home alive with a 2-0 home-opening shutout victory over in-state rival Southern Utah Friday night in front of 1,990 fans at Clyde Field.
Abby Jameson fired a shot over the keeper's out-stretched arm from about 25 yards out in the 24th minute to help extend UVU's Clyde Field unbeaten streak to 11 matches.
Kalli Suesue was credited with the assist after setting Jameson up on the left side for the score. The goal marks Jameson's first career goal.
Alexis Peterson helped secure the win in the 90th minute as she received a pass from
Breanna DeWaal down the right side of the field and put it past the keeper for the score.
Courtney Stromberg was also credited with the assist on the goal. Peterson has now registered a goal in each of UVU's three matches this season. Utah Valley out-shot Southern Utah 17-10, including a 6-5 five advantage on goal. DeWaal led the Wolverines with five shots on the night, including a team-high three on goal.
Sarah Davis and
Brooklyn Nielsen each recorded a half in goal for UVU. Davis was credited with the win in the box. Davis tallied three saves and Nielsen had two.
LOOKING AHEAD
Following Sunday's match at Oklahoma, Utah Valley will look to keep its Clyde Field unbeaten streak in tact as the Wolverines welcome UNLV to town on Sept. 2.
HOME SWEET CLYDE FIELD - UNBEATEN STREAK AT 11 MATCHES
Utah Valley has enjoyed an impressive 18-2-3 at Clyde Field over the past two seasons. The Wolverines hold an all-time 63-32-9 mark at home since UVU became a Division I member in 2003. UVU went unbeaten at home last season with a 9-0-1 record. UVU extended its Clyde Field unbeaten streak to 11 matches with its win over Southern Utah on Friday night.
KIRK ENTERS ALL-TIME UVU CAREER CHARTS
Senior forward
Taylor Kirk ranks in the top-10 in three different all-time UVU career statistical rankings. Kirk is tied for seventh all time with five game-winning goals, just three away from the all-time best mark of eight. She ranks 10 all-time in points with 31 and also ranks 10th in careers assists with nine.
WOLVERINES SELECTED AS CO-FAVORITES TO WIN WAC TITLE, SUESUE NAMED WAC PRESEASON DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Utah Valley was selected as a co-favorite to win the 2016 Western Athletic Conference title as determined by a vote of the league's eight head coaches. UVU senior defender
Kalli Suesue was tabbed the WAC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year by the WAC coaches. Utah Valley and Seattle U each received four first-place votes and three second-place votes for 46 total points.
SU downed UVU 1-0 in last year's final conference match to claim the WAC's regular season crown. . The Wolverines then defeated Seattle U 2-0 in the WAC Tournament championship to claim its first-ever WAC Tournament title and trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Suesue was selected as the league's preseason defensive player of the year after helping the Wolverines to an impressive eight shutouts last season. She also helped the UVU defense to a 1.17 goals allowed average. Suesue is the third straight Wolverine to receive WAC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Suesue was also named to the Preseason All-WAC Team along with senior midfielder
Taylor Kirk. Kirk scored six goals and recorded six assists for 18 points last season. She registered 20 shots, including 14 on goal. She was named to last season's WAC All-Tournament team after scoring the game-winning goal in the championship win over Seattle U.

Jessica Duffin secured the shutout in goal to lead the Utah Valley University women's soccer team to a 2-0 win over top-seeded Seattle U on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015 to claim the team's first-ever WAC Tournament title.
The win over the Redhawks snaps Seattle U's nation-leading 16 match unbeaten streak and earned Utah Valley (14-6-1) the WAC's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. The win also marked head coach
Brent Anderson's 100th overall victory.
Kirk scored the unassisted game winner in the 19th minute after she stole the ball from a Seattle U defender, dribbled into the box, and fired a shot into the back of the net. Utah Valley scored again in the 69th minute as Kirk sent a ball down the right side to a streaking Callister, who dribbled once and connected on a shot just out of the reach of the SU keeper for the score.
ANDERSON REACHES 100-WINS MARK

Brent Anderson reached win number 100 in style on Nov. 8, 2015. The 11th-year head coach picked up win number 100 with a 2-0 win over Seattle U in the championship match of last season's WAC Tournament. Anderson now holds a 101-93-12 career record. He holds an impressive 58-15-3 conference mark in his 10 years at UVU, and is 21-9-2 in conference play since joining the WAC.
