OMAHA, Neb. – Utah Valley University jumped out to a five-run lead but a late Creighton rally allowed the Blue Jays to take game two of a doubleheader, 6-5, on Saturday at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha. Creighton (3-11) won the first game of the twin bill, 3-2, after the Wolverines (4-14) won Friday's opener in 11 innings, 2-1.

Utah Valley junior
Trevor Peterson hit the second pitch of the game out of the park in left for his first home run of the year. It's the first leadoff home run a Utah Valley player has hit since Willie Pratt on May 10, 2013. The Wolverines added another run in the first when
Zac Willis singled, stole second and then scored on a
Jake Berry double to make it 2-0.
Â
UVU added three in the third with Peterson again starting the scoring rally. He walked to lead off, stole second, and then scored on a base hit by
Trevor Howell. Willis followed with a double before groundout off the bat of
Jackson Overlund scored Howell. Berry made it 5-0 with his second RBI of the game, on a sacrifice fly to bring home Willis.
Â
Creighton came back with one in the fourth before a four-run seventh tied it at 5-5. The blow in the seventh came on a two-run triple from Will Robertson. The Blue Jays scored the winning run in the eighth after Clark Brinkman led off with a double and later scored on a sac fly by Bryce Only.
Â
Ryan Tapani (1-0) got the win after throwing 3.2 scoreless innings to finish the game.
Eric Olguin (1-2) took the loss for the Wolverines. Peterson, Howell and Willis – the top three hitters in UVU's order – each had two-hit days while Berry had two RBIs.
