UVU faces Stephen F. Austin in WAC Tournament Semifinal on Friday night

UVU SET TO PLAY SOUTHWEST DIVISION CHAMP STEPHEN F. AUSTIN IN WAC TOURNEY SEMIFINAL
Utah Valley defeated Sam Houston 6-1 on Wednesday night in the first round of the WAC Tournament and now moves on to the semifinals to take on Southwest division champion Stephen F. Austin on Friday night at Elmer Gray Stadium in Abilene, Texas. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. MT

Sadie Brockbank scored two goals and fired a season-high 15 shots to lead the Utah Valley University women's soccer team to a 6-1 win over Sam Houston on Wednesday night in the first round of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament at Elmer Gray Stadium. Nicole Olanda, Breanna Eves, Amber Tripp, and Manthy Brady also recorded goals in the win.

Through 20 matches this season, Heather Stainbrook and Brockbank lead the team in scoring with nine goals each. Brockbank also leads the team in assists (9), points (27), shots (87), and shots on goal (37). Nicole Ray is third on the team with five goals, followed by Tripp with four goals. Julianna Carter and Eves each have three goals, while Grace Beeston has two. Breanna DeWaal, Olanda, Jenna Shepherd, Brady, and London Miller each have one goal. In all, 12 Wolverines have found the back of the net this season with seven players recording multiple goals.

Brooklyn Nielsen leads the Wolverines in the box with 46 saves and a 1.23 goals allowed per game average. She holds a .648 save percentage and has seven solo shutouts and three combined clean sheets.

ABOUT STEPHEN F. AUSTIN
Stephen F. Austin heads into Friday night's match with an 10-7-1 overall record. The team won the WAC's Southwest division with a 8-2-0 record. The Jacks won eight straight matches before dropping their final two games of the season on the road, falling 3-1 at Abilene Christian and 2-1 at Sam Houston. The Jacks had a balanced scoring attack this season with three players scoring four goals and six others scoring three. In all, SFA had 14 players score a goal this season. Colleen Feagins, a First Team All-WAC honoree, led the team with 13 points this season with four goals and two assists. She had six goals over SFA's final six matches of the season. Madeline Talbot leads the Jacks in the box with 80 saves and 33 goals allowed. She holds a .708 save percentage and a 1.89 goals allowed average.

SHUTOUT CITY
Utah Valley has 10 shutouts this season--the second most in team history. The UVU record for shutouts in a single season is 11, which the team did last season on its historic run to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Utah Valley has four shutout wins in its last five matches heading into Wednesday night's game against Sam Houston. UVU ranks 34th in the nation in shutout percentage at .500.

UVU AT THE WAC TOURNAMENT
The Wolverines hold an all-time 9-5-2 record at the WAC Tournament since joining the league in 2013. The Wolverines are 1-0 at this year's tournament. Utah Valley went 1-0-1 at the tournament last season with a 1-1 tie against NM State (UVU advanced 4-3 on PKs) and a 1-0 win over WAC rival Seattle U in the championship match. UVU will play a semifinal match for the eighth time in team history. The Wolverines hold a 3-3-1 record in WAC Tournament semifinal matches. UVU has reached the championship match of the tournament in two of the last three seasons. The team has now reached at least the semifinals of the tournament for eight straight seasons. The only year the Wolverines did not reach the semifinals was the team's first year in the league in 2013.

UVU HOLDS TOP-100 RPI, SECOND-BEST RPI IN WAC
Utah Valley holds the second-best RPI in the WAC as the Wolverines are currently No. 80 in the latest ranking. Utah Valley is sandwiched between Washington at No. 83 and Buffalo and No. 85. Grand Canyon holds the top spot at No. 50, followed by Utah Valley (80), Stephen F. Austin (122), Seattle U (144), New Mexico State (161), California Baptist (185), Lamar (208), Sam Houston (233), Dixie State (256), Abilene Christian (286), UTRGV (305), and Chicago State (335).

UVU IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Utah Valley is in the top-50 of the national rankings in five team statistical categories and nine individual categories. UVU ranks 30th in total goals (40), 30th in total points (118), 34th in shutout percentage (.500), 35th in total assists (38), and 50th in assists per game (1.90). Sadie Brockbank ranks second nationally with six yellow cards. Brockbank also ranks fifth in shots per game (4.58), 31st in total assists (9), 35th in shots on goal per game (1.95), 38th in total points (27), and 43rd in assists per game (0.47). Brooklyn Nielsen is sixth nationally in minutes played (1824:48) and 40th in shutouts (7). Heather Stainbrook ranks 30th in the nation in game-winning goals (4). Julianna Carter is 41st nationally in total assists (8).

TRIPP BECOMES UVU's ALL-TIME CAREER LEADER IN ASSISTS, GAMES PLAYED, GAMES STARTED, AND MINUTES PLAYED
Utah Valley senior forward Amber Tripp has become the Utah Valley all-time leader in three categories. With her six assists this season, she moved to the top of the UVU career assists list with 25 helpers. Breanna DeWaal and Sadie Brockbank are tied for second on the career assists list with 19 assists each. Tripp has also become the all-time UVU leader in games played with 104 with DeWaal second at 94. She also has started more games than any other Wolverine with 84 starts, while DeWaal is tied for third at 77. Tripp is also the career UVU leader in minutes played at 7,152 followed by DeWaal in second at 6805.

BROCKBANK TIES CLOUGH FOR TOP SPOT ON UVU'S ALL-TIME POINTS AND GOAL LEADER
Utah Valley junior forward Sadie Brockbank has tied Jenni Clough (2005-08) for the top spot on UVU's all-time career goals and points list. Brockbank is tied with Clough with 71 points and tied with Clough with 26 career goals.  Amber Tripp is in third at 65 career points and Breanna DeWaal is sixth with 55 points. Brockbank is already UVU's all-time leader in shots attempted (272) and shots on goal (125).
