DENVER—The Western Athletic Conference announced today that Utah Valley sophomore forward
Anna Pickering has been added to the 2020-21 WAC All-Tournament Team.
The WAC announced only 10 of the All-Tournament team members following the championship match on Saturday. The team should be comprised of 10 student-athletes and the tournament MVP. Pickering received the honor after the mistake had been caught and fixed.
Pickering helped the Wolverines get past New Mexico State in the semifinals and Seattle U in the championship match at last week's WAC Tournament as UVU added a WAC Tournament title to go along with its WAC regular season title this season. Pickering battled down the right side of the field, getting past defenders to help set up a myriad of offensive opportunities for UVU. She recorded two shots, both of which were on goal, in the win over SU in the championship match.
The Mapleton, Utah native has scored four goals with two assists for 10 points this season. She has fired 18 shots, including 13 on frame.
Utah Valley is set to take on Memphis on Wednesday, April 28, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The game will kickoff at 2 p.m. (MT) at Eastern Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.
