OREM, Utah – Utah Valley baseball head coach
Nate Rasmussen has announced the 2025 schedule. The Wolverines will play 21 games at UCCU Ballpark, with featured matchups in non-conference play against BYU and Utah. They will welcome Abilene Christian, California Baptist, Tarleton State, and Sacramento State during WAC play.
"I am excited to announce our 2025 schedule. The schedule continues to showcase Big 12 opponents and continued rivalries with BYU and Utah, both home and away. It also offers a long preseason which allows us to be prepared for a tough WAC schedule. We look forward to competing with these programs and continuing to grow!" said UVU head coach
Nate Rasmussen.
The Wolverines open the 2025 slate with eight games in California, starting with opening weekend at UC Riverside (Feb.14-18). It will be the fourth consecutive season that the two squads have met during the regular season. The Highlanders won last season's only contest 8-4. UVU will head up I-5 and play their second weekend at San José State (Feb. 20-23). The Spartans finished last season 24-33 and played for the Mountain West Championship a year ago.
Utah Valley will open its home slate on Friday, Feb. 28, at home against UC Davis. It will mark the Aggies' first trip to Orem for the three-game series, which runs through Sunday, Mar. 1. The final non-conference weekend series will take UVU to Greeley, Colorado, for a four-game series with former WAC foe Northern Colorado. The Bears are coming off a 16-38-1 season. It will be the first meeting between the two programs since 2021.
The final non-conference weekend will feature a matchup with Embry-Riddle in a four-game series (Mar. 14-17). The Eagles are an NAIA school located in Prescott, Arizona.
The 2025 WAC schedule will feature a 24-game schedule. The opening weekend will see Utah Valley travel to the Pacific Northwest (Mar. 21-23) for a three-game weekend series against Seattle U. The Wolverines will head south to Portland (Mar. 24) for a non-conference game before returning home to host Abilene Christian (Mar. 28-30). The Wildcats will make their first trip to UCCU Ballpark.
UVU will embark on a nine-game road trip to begin the month of April with three games in St. George against Utah Tech (Apr. 4-6) and will continue to Las Vegas to play at UNLV (Apr. 7-8). It will be the first meeting between the Rebels and Wolverines since 2022 and will only be the fifth meeting between the two programs. They will wrap up the trip down in Phoenix with a three-game series (Apr. 11-13) against Grand Canyon. The trip will conclude with the first of two meetings against BYU, the first being in Provo on Apr. 15.
Following the long road trip, they will return home for their next eight contests, starting with the defending WAC Tournament Champions, the Tarleton State Texans, who visit (Apr. 17-19). UVU will then host a pair of Big 12 foes: BYU on Apr. 21 and Utah on Apr. 22. The homestand will wrap up with a visit from California Baptist. It will be the Lancers' first visit to the Beehive State since the 2022 season.
The stretch run of the 2025 campaign will start with the only trip to the Lonestar state with a trip to UT Arlington (May 2-4). The Mavericks won last year's series in Orem after UVU bested them the season before in Texas. The Wolverines may make their last trip to Smith's Ballpark on May 6 for a midweek game with the Utes.
The Wolverines' home schedule will conclude with their final WAC series of the season against Sacramento State (May 9-11). The Wolverines will wrap up the regular season with a three-game series in California (May 14-16) against the University of San Francisco.
The 2025 University Credit Union WAC Baseball Tournament will take place from May 20 to 24 at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Arizona. The winner will receive an automatic bid to an NCAA regional.
