Last week the Wolverines competed at Southern Utah with a group of throwers also in action in California. Among the throwers who had successful weeks was
Kelsi Oldroyd, who took third at the Mt. Sac Relays while improving on her season-best mark in the javelin, hitting 54.34 to also become the first Utah Valley athlete to qualify for the Olympic Trials during their collegiate career in the event they compete in for the Wolverines. Oldroyd will compete at the trials in Eugene, Oregon on June 28.
Olivia Pixton also set a new triple jump record at Southern Utah's meet, while
Andrew Smith and
Luis Diaz Bojorquez each had three personal records that shuffled the school record books. Utah Valley had a total of eight first place finishes at SUU, including Oldroyd who returned from the Mt. Sac Relays to win the long jump in Cedar City on Saturday.
