Utah Valley cross country wraps up the regular season on Friday in New Jersey with the Princeton Fall Classic, hosted by Princeton at the Meadows Campus Cross Country Course. The women will run first at 8:30 a.m. MDT, followed by the men at 9:15.
The Wolverines are coming off a sweep of the Color Country Invitational back on Oct. 4, taking home the individual and team titles on both sides. For the men, Sila Kiplagat led the way with his first individual title at the collegiate level in just his second race. Kiplagat was honored as the WAC men's runner of the week following his win.
Kiplagat was followed closely by Wyatt Mortenson and Jayden Fitzgarrald, with the Wolverine trio taking home the top three spots and finishing just over a minute ahead of the next-best finishers. Behind the trio, Cameron Jacobs and Cayden Tupper took 4th and 7th respectively to round out the team scoring and give the men their second team title of the season.
Morgan Nokes won the women's race, her third victory in four races thus far. Nokes has been the Wolverines' top finisher in each meet. Ari Trimble also took her third runner-up finish of the season, coming in behind Nokes in each of her race wins.
Elisabeth Ferrell put up her top performance of the season, taking third in Cedar City. Natalia Boltz and Addison Pettingill took 6th and 9th respectively to give the women their third team title of the season.
Following Friday's meet, Utah Valley will have a week off before heading to Arlington, Texas for the WAC Championships, hosted by UTA at the Harold Patterson Sports Center. The men's 8k race will begin at 8 a.m. MDT, followed by the women's 6k race at 9.
