MESQUITE, Nev. – Utah Valley sophomore Dane Huddleston continued his dominant run, firing a final-round 5-under-par 67 on Tuesday to secure the Mesquite Desert Classic individual title with a three-round score of 14-under-par 202 (65-70-67). The victory marks Huddleston's third consecutive individual championship.

The Wolverines also claimed the team title, shooting a final-round 6-under-par 282 to finish the tournament at 21-under-par 843 (284-277-282), winning by three strokes over host Eastern Kentucky (-18) in the 12-team field. Cal Poly (-17) placed third, while Utah Tech (-10) finished fourth.

"I'm so proud of these guys for the way they battled all week," said Utah Valley head coach Chris Curran. "Dane continues to impress with his play, and the team really stepped up in key moments. This is a great way to start the spring season, and we're excited to carry this momentum into the next event."

Huddleston's victory at the Mesquite Desert Classic adds to his back-to-back-to-back individual wins, having also claimed the Utah Shootout (Oct. 14) and the Kapolei Invitational (Oct. 31). He picked up right where he left off after the winter break, opening the spring season with another title.

Huddleston edged Eastern Kentucky's Anders Larson (-12) by two strokes, finishing at 14-under-par 202 (65-70-67). His final round featured six birdies, including a long birdie putt on the final hole that sealed both the individual and team championships.
