OREM, Utah — Utah Valley head softball coach Cody Thomson has announced the signing of West Jordan HS standout Lafiana Fifita to a National Letter of Intent as part of the 2025 recruiting class.
Fifita, who hails from Taylorsville, Utah, played her freshman and sophomore seasons at West HS in Salt Lake City before transferring to West Jordan. As a freshman, she was named second team All-State at the 6A level, and helped lead her team to a runner-up finish against Riverton. Fifita currently plays her club softball for the Firecrackers Vines.
Fifita comes from a long line of college and professional athletes in her extended family. Her cousins include the Sewell and Nacua brothers who currently play in the NFL, and Chloe and Thessa Malauulu, who played D-I softball at Mississippi State, UCLA, and Duke.
