Utah Valley Adds Four Transfers to Women’s Soccer Roster

6/6/2025 2:58:00 PM

OREM — Utah Valley University head coach Chris Lemay has announced the addition of four Division I transfers to the Wolverine women's soccer program. Junior forward/midfielder Lulie MacFarlane (UTSA), and sophomores Stacy Barresi (Southern Utah), Mia Roberts (Western Kentucky), and Tylie Pratt (BYU) have each signed with UVU and will join the team ahead of the 2025 season.

"We are happy to announce that both Stacy and Mia will be joining Leah Wolfe to complete our goalkeeping unit," said Lemay. "Both players join us with experience and ties to Utah. Stacy is brave, she is a solid shot stopper and knows the conference. Mia is athletic and can make the big save to change games. We are excited that she has decided to come home and join the program. Tylie played in the back for BYU but we envision her contributing in our system higher up the field. She knows the level that we play at and has proven that she can impact against the best. Lulie is an exciting addition that will add depth to our front line. Lu is technical and is dangerous in 1v1 situations—she will fit into our system and brand well."

MacFarlane, a junior from Vancouver, British Columbia, played the 2024 season at UTSA, appearing in 16 matches and making two starts while scoring one goal. She began her collegiate career at Memphis in 2023, where she appeared in three matches as a freshman and helped the Tigers to American Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles, a season-high national ranking of No. 3, and an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance.

A multi-sport athlete, MacFarlane prepped at Burnaby Central Secondary and played for the Vancouver Whitecaps Girls Elite REX program. She holds her high school's record for fastest goals scored in a game—netting four goals in just 19 minutes—and represented Team British Columbia at the 2022 Canada Summer Games. She also participated in national camps with the Republic of Ireland U17 and U19 teams.

Barresi, a 5-foot-8 goalkeeper from Mentor, Ohio, transfers in after one season at Southern Utah, where she appeared in six matches and made three starts. She totaled 15 saves on the season, including a season-high eight stops at Tarleton State. Barresi prepped at Gilmour Academy, where she was a three-time team defensive MVP and All-Greater Cleveland honoree. She also played club soccer for Cleveland Force and was named a News Herald Player to Watch in 2023.

Roberts, a 5-foot-9 goalkeeper from South Jordan, Utah, returns home after two seasons at Western Kentucky. She starred at Bingham High School, earning All-State honors and twice being named the All-Region MVP Goalkeeper. She led her team to a state quarterfinal appearance and played club soccer for UAFC Premier and LaRoca FC ECNL. Roberts also participated in the U.S. Soccer Girls Youth National Team Regional ID Camp in 2021.

Pratt, a sophomore from Gilbert, Arizona, played in 18 matches with three starts during the 2024 season at BYU. She recorded four shots on goal across 571 minutes of play. A product of Highland High School, Pratt earned All-Region honors as a freshman and sophomore before being named to the 2023 ECNL Southwest Region All-Conference First Team while competing for AZ Arsenal.

Utah Valley is coming off a third consecutive WAC regular-season championship. The Wolverines will open the 2025 season on Aug. 14 at Idaho State before kicking off their home slate in the new UCCU Stadium on Aug. 18.
