OREM, Utah – Utah Valley baseball heads to Nevada this weekend for a three-game series against the Wolf Pack in Reno. The series was altered due to weather, but the teams will attempt to play a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 21, beginning at 12 p.m. MT / 11 a.m. PT before the series concludes Sunday, Feb. 22, at noon MT / 11 a.m. PT.

BROADCAST INFO
Zak Basch will have the call for the series on the Mountain West Network and app, with a radio broadcast via the Varsity Network. Fans can follow along with live stats at GoUVU.com/stats.

LAST TIME OUT
Utah Valley split its four-game opening weekend series against Pacific. The Wolverines won on opening day behind late-game heroics from Hunter Katschke, who launched a game-tying homer in the top of the ninth before a two-run homer proved to be the game-winner in the 11th inning.

Mason Hamlin finished the weekend 5-for-10 with four runs scored and four walks, while Brody Block led the team in RBIs with five on opening weekend.

The UVU starting pitching had a solid weekend, beginning with Friday night starter Colton Kennedy, who tossed five innings with seven strikeouts and surrendered just two hits. The sophomore has now climbed into the top 10 in strikeouts in program history and could continue to move up the list with another strong outing this weekend.

Landon Zaborowski was dominant on Sunday, going a career-high six innings with eight strikeouts, just one off his career best.

SCOUTING NEVADA
The Wolf Pack are 0-3 after being swept in their opening weekend series at Ole Miss. Picked as the preseason favorite to win the Mountain West, Nevada earned five of the nine first-place votes from the conference's coaches.

Game 1 starter Alessandro Castro led a group of five players to earn preseason all-conference honors, joined by Jake Harvey, Jayce Dobie, Junhyuk Kwon and Sean Yamaguchi.

ALL-TIME AGAINST THE WOLF PACK
Utah Valley is 6-18 all-time against Nevada, but the two programs have not met since the 2014 season in Reno. The only time the teams have played in Orem came during the last full series in 2013, when UVU won two of three games against the Wolf Pack.

UP NEXT
Utah Valley will play UC Riverside next weekend and start a stretch of 12 consecutive home games. First pitch in the home opener is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 27 at 4:05 p.m. MT.
