FRESHMAN ~ (09-10) 19-12 overall record (1-2 duals) ... began the season with a 13-2 record ... placed second at the Northwest College Open in Powell, Wyo. as he went 4-1 ... finished in third place at the Cowboy Open in Laramie, Wyo. as he wrestled back with an impressive 8-1 record at the tournament ... picked up six victories by fall, six by major decision, and one by tech fall. 

Before Utah Valley: Prepped at Vestavia High School in Birmingham, Alabama ... a two-time Alabama State Champion ... a Virginia State Runner-up ... a Cadet Freestyle All-American ... high school team were State Champions. 

Personal: Graduated from Vestavia High School in 2009 ... expected major at UVU is undecided ... enjoys hunting, fishing, and hanging out with his friends ... his father Marty Carlson played football at East Carolina ... also recruited by Purdue, Hofstra, and Appalachian State ... parents are Marty and Sherry.
