FRESHMAN ~ (09-10): 16-12 overall record (3-2 duals) ... placed 2nd at the UVU Open in Orem as he went 2-1 ... went 3-2 at the NC State Wolfpack Open in Raleigh, N.C. ... was 1-1 at the Lone Star Duals after breaking his wrist and ending his freshman year in mid-January ... finished the year with eight pins and one major decision. 

Before Utah Valley: Prepped at Lehi High School ... a three-time All-American ... a State Champion and a State Runner-up ... posted a 52-3 record his senior year while wrestling heavyweight ... also played football and track in high school ... was All-State in football as well as a State Placer in the discus ... was first in Region in discus. 

Personal: Graduated from Lehi High School in 2009 with a 3.8 GPA ... a Honor Roll student and a wrestling/football Academic All-State ... received the Hope of America Award ... expected major at UVU is pre-engineering ... enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, and watching movies ... relative Ron Startin was head football coach at BYU in the 1960s ... also recruited by Oregon State and Oklahoma State for wrestling and Utah, Utah State, and Southern Utah for football ... interesting fact: he has only wrestled for three years ... parents are Bob and Marni.
