FRESHMAN ~ (2007): Competed in each of Utah Valley[apos]s six meets ... improved upon each of his eight kilometer races throughout the season going from 28:28.50 at Utah State to open the season to a personal season-best of 25:44.44 to finish the season at the Independent Championships ... posted a 26:44.70 in an eight kilometer race at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational ... helped UV to its first men[apos]s team win at Southern Utah and its first team Independent Championship.

Prepped at Lone Peak High School ... finished 15th at State his junior year and ninth at state his senior year ... team finished third at state as a senior ... took fifth at state in the 3200 meters his senior year ... was an All-State selection in cross country his senior year and an Academic All-Region honoree.

Graduated from Lone Peak High School with a 3.8 GPA in 2007 ... was an honor roll student ... plans to study Pre-Med at Utah Valley ... was in his high school choir ... enjoys mountain biking, hiking and camping ... also recruited by Navy ... parents are Todd and Cathy Barney.
