The Wolverines and Cougars resume their new rivalry Tuesday night at Larry H. Miller field at 7:00pm MST. BYU beat Utah Valley State 15-8 on March 8th to take a 1-0 all-time series lead. The Cougars are expected to throw lefty Patrick Wells, while Utah Valley is scheduled to go with Kyle Tash. Tash is 1-4 with a 8.07 ERA.
Wolverine Update:
Utah Valley State lost three out of four last weekend in Pullman, Washington to the Washington State Cougars. The Wolverines lost the first two games of the series 11-2 and 9-3 before having a breakout game Saturday afternoon. Utah Valley State put 14 runs on the board and Brady Drake went the distance, leading the Wolverines to their sixth victory of the season.
Dan Bulow hit two home runs in the win, including a tape measure blast that left the entire stadium speechless. Bulow finished the weekend 5-8 with three homers and five RBI. Canyon Vance also had successful weekend, going 9-15 with a home run and raising his season average to a team high .417. Nick Connor was 7-18 during the four-game series, with two doubles, a triple and six RBI.

- Eli Slesk has made a successful debut to his season after recovering from a broken wrist. Slesk was 5-12 over the weekend in Pullman with one RBI.
- In addition to Slesk's good start, Todd Bateman had a perfect debut on the mound for the Wolverines. Bateman made his first pitching appearance of the season on Saturday, throwing two perfect innings and striking out three batters.

Grand Opening :Â
The long-awaited opening for the Parkway Crossing Stadium is finally here. After playing their first 23 games on the road the Utah Valley State Wolverines open play at the beautiful new 2,500 seat stadium on Thursday, March 24, against Southern Utah at 6 p.m.
On Thursday from 12-2 media and baseball fans can come to Parkway Crossing Stadium for a guided tour by athletic director Mike Jacobsen and the baseball coaches.
"This a great day," Jacobsen said, "for Utah Valley State, for the city of Orem, the Owlz, and Utah County. To be able to have a baseball facility of this magnitude is a great opportunity for those who love this great game. Parkway Crossing Stadium is a state of the art facility that we are all very proud of."
The Wolverines play four games against the Thunderbirds this weekend. Friday night's game also starts at 6 p.m., followed by a double header on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
"It's a dream come true for me,"Â said coach Gardner about Parkway Crossing Stadium. "The ballpark is outstanding. There aren't a lot of Division I programs with the facilities we have at this point. We're thrilled to death."
During Friday nights game there will be festivities and after a firework show commemorating the grand opening of the new stadium. There is an Alumni barbeque on the berm at 4:30 before Friday's game for all former Utah Valley State baseball players.For more information on the barbeque go wolverinesports.net. The Wolverines continue their season by traveling to Seattle March 28-29, but will return home to play BYU on April 4.
