SACRAMENTO, California - Utah Valley State (6-13) dropped a 7-1 decision at Sacramento State on Sunday afternoon, giving the Hornets the series finale win and evening up the four-game set at two wins apiece.
Sac State (11-15) got three big two-out hits in the game that led to five of its seven runs while the Wolverines couldn't come up with the hits they needed in the same situations.
Sac State took an early lead when Brian Blauser hit a solo home run to lead off the second inning for his sixth round tripper of the season.
The Hornets added three runs in the third after Blauser delivered an RBI double with two out followed by a two-run triple from Jim Strombach.
Brian Conradi hit a two-run double in the fifth inning to give Sac State a 6-0 lead as starter Travis Kane was controlling the UV bats, allowing just three hits over the first seven innings of work.

Eli Slesk single scored
Jason Zundel for Utah Valley State's only run of the game.
Derrick Thomas and
Brad Hales had two hits apiece for the Wolverines while Blauser was 2-for-2 with three runs scored and two RBI for Sac State.
Kane (2-4) got the win on the mound for the Hornets while
Dan Christensen (0-1) took the loss in his first start at Utah Valley State.
The two teams alternated wins in the series with Utah Valley State winning the first and third games behind strong pitching performances from
Kam Mickolio and
Kyle Tash.
