What's On Deck ...
Utah Valley State (12-27) travels to Reno for a three-game series at WAC school Nevada this weekend. It will be the first meeting ever between the two schools.

The Wolverines are coming off of an 11-6 loss at neighbor BYU on Tuesday, with eight of the Cougars' 11 runs unearned.

Dan Bulow was a perfect 3-for-3 in the game with his seventh home run of the season. He was just a triple away from the cycle.

Utah Valley State is 3-3 in its last six games but has lost two in a row.

Last weekend the Wolverines won two out of three over Northern Colorado for just their first series win of the season.

Scouting the Opposition ...
Nevada (15-19, 5-6 in WAC) has lost seven of its last eight including an 8-3 loss at Pacific on Tuesday.

Prior to its recent struggles though, the Wolfpack had won nine straight and were a perfect 4-0 in WAC play.

The Wolfpack are coached by Gary Powers, who has amassed over 715 wins in his 23+ seasons in Reno.

Nevada is led by Shawn Scobee, who is batting .351 with 12 home runs and 30 runs batted in while slugging an impressive .748. Matt Bowman leads the team with a .385 average, but he and Scobee are the only two players batting over .267 on the team.

Common opponents for the two teams include Oregon State (UV 0-3, Nevada 0-4) and Sacramento State (UV 2-2, Nevada 1-2).

The Wolfpack beat then #10 Arizona State 12-8 earlier in the year in Surprise, Arizona.

Wolverines by the Numbers ...
Utah Valley State has been swinging its bats well as of late. In the last five games the Wolverines are batting .368 and have 64 total hits (just over 12 per game).

Dan Bulow is batting .643 (9-for-14) during that stretch with a two doubles, a home run and five runs batted in.

Bulow leads the team with seven home runs and 37 RBI overall on the season.

Brett Guerrero is also having recent success on the mound. The senior from Moreno Valley, California hasn't allowed a run in his last two relief appearances while also earning a win over Northern Colorado in relief.

His line during that time is 5 2/3 IP, 0 R, 4 H, 3 K and 1 BB.

Up Next ...
The Wolverines will play at Utah next Tuesday in the fifth game between the in-state rivals. The game was scheduled to be in Orem but due to snow during the first week between the two teams has been moved to Salt Lake City.

Following that game, Utah Valley State will host NAIA powerhouse Lewis & Clark State in a three-game series beginning Thursday, April 27 at 7pm.
