Orem, Utah - Utah Valley State baseball resumes its in-state rivalry with Southern Utah this week with three games scheduled in Cedar City. The two teams are scheduled to meet Thursday in a doubleheader beginning at Noon and Saturday in a single game, also at 12pm. The schedule was changed in anticipation of a storm on Friday in Cedar City.
The Wolverines were swept at St. Mary's last week, falling 3-2 in the series finale behind a strong pitching performance from Jace Brinkerhoff in his first collegiate start.
Eli Slesk is batting .474 so far this season for Utah Valley while Dan Bulow is batting .412 with one home run.
Southern Utah is 1-6 on the season with its lone win coming at Cal State Dominguez Hills.
SUU leads the all-time series with the Wolverines 9-6 after winning the 2006 series 5-3.
Next week, Utah Valley will travel to Pullman, Washington for a single game against Washington State and to Lewiston, Idaho for the Banana Belt Tournament against Gonzaga, Air Force and Southern Utah.
