OREM, Utah - Utah Valley will try to snap a four-game losing streak on the road this week in Colorado. The Wolverines (7-24-1) will play four games in Greeley, Colorado beginning Friday at 10am against Air Force. All four games can be heard live at WolverineGreen.com. Saturday will be a doubleheader with Air Force at 10am and Northern Colorado at 2pm. UV will close out the weekend on Sunday against Northern Colorado at 10am.
The Wolverines lost four times at Nevada last weekend, including a 1-0 loss in the opening game of the series. That loss put UV 0-9 on the year in one run games. The Wolf Pack also defeated Utah Valley 3-1, 11-3 and 7-5 in the series.
Jace Brinkerhoff, who had four hits and three RBI in Sunday's series finale at Nevada, continues to lead the team with a .343 batting average to go along with four home runs, 15 doubles and 26 runs batted in.
Air Force was swept at New Mexico in Mountain West Conference play over the weekend. The Falcons (11-22) started the season 7-9 but have lost 13 of 17 including their first 11 conference games. The Wolverines lead the all-time series against Air Force 4-3.
Northern Colorado is a solid 3-6 against ranked opponents this year, including handing then #1 Arizona State its first loss of the year on March 21st in Tempe, Arizona.
The Bears (12-22) have won four straight including a scoreboard shattering 29-10 win over Metro State on Tuesday. UNC, who holds a 7-5 all-time series lead, is the only Divison I Independent that Utah Valley will face this season.
After the weekend in Colorado, Utah Valley will play its next five at home beginning with a three game series with in-state foe Dixie State. The former junior college rivals will play a single game on Thursday and a doubleheader Saturday. The Wolverines will also host Northwest Nazarene on Tuesday, April 29th in a twinbill.
