OREM, Utah - Utah Valley baseball will host Northwest Nazarene in a Tuesday doubleheader beginning at noon at Brent Brown Ballpark in Orem. The game can be heard live at WolverineGreen.com.
The Wolverines (11-27-1) are 4-2 in their last six games and have a team batting average of .419 during that stretch.
Cole Anderson is hitting .550 (11-for-20) in the last six games while Adam Openshaw is 13-for-25 (.520) in that same timeframe. Anderson, who is hitting .308 on the year, has also upped his average by nearly 130 points during a seven-game hitting streak.
Andy Jangard (1-3, 7.77 ERA) and Marcus Moore (6-5, 3.14 ERA) are the scheduled starters for Utah Valley. Moore earned a win in UV's 14-4 win over Dixie State in his last start while Jangard defeated Air Force on April 19th in his last outing.
Northwest Nazarene is 28-20 after winning three out of four at Montana State-Billings over the weekend. Zach Aakhus is batting .401 with 13 home runs and 47 runs batted in to lead the Crusaders.
Following the doubleheader, Utah Valley will play four games at #9 Oklahoma State beginning Friday. The Cowboys have won nine straight and will be the first Big 12 school that the Wolverines will face in five seasons of NCAA baseball.
