About the Wolverines
UVU swept four games from Chicago State last weekend, using 11 home runs during the series to outscore the Cougars and hold onto first place in the standings. Goose Kallunki homered four times in the series and Chris Benson hit three. The Wolverines have 49 home runs on the year, one shy of tying a school record.

Utah Valley ranks near the top of the country in several offensive categories. As of Tuesday, the Wolverines lead the nation in doubles per game with 3.14 per contest. UVU also ranks in the top 10 as a team in batting average (3rd, .361), slugging percentage (5th, .573) and scoring (7th, 9.5 rpg).

Benson leads the team and is 15th nationally in batting with a .440 average and leads the team with 48 RBI. Jace Brinkerhoff is batting .423 with 43 batted in on the year. The senior holds the school record in several offensive categories including hits and has 298 for his career, two shy of 300. Kallunki's weekend puts him a home run in front of Brinkerhoff for the team lead with nine.

Jason Zundel had a home run in the series at Chicago State and would have finished the series finale 5-for-5 had the game not reverted back an inning due to the rainout. Zundel is hitting .500 over the last two weekends with three home runs including a grand slam at Chicago State.

Closer Brian Whatcott has five saves on the year and has already set a new school record for saves in a season while Blake Krahenbuhl is 5-1 on the year and has won his last four decision.

The Wolverines host BYU on Tuesday, May 4 at 6 p.m. before traveling to New York to face NYIT in a four-game conference series May 7-9.

About the Opposition
