OREM, Utah --
The Utah Valley University baseball team returns to the diamond this weekend with a four-game Great West Conference series against Chicago State University. The series begins Friday at 7 p.m. with a doubleheader Saturday at 4 p.m. prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. finale.

The Wolverines (14-21, 5-3), who haven't played since April 16 against Utah, lost the scheduled series at North Dakota last weekend to snow. It's the second time that UVU and UND have lost four games to weather in Grand Forks.

UVU begins the weekend in third place, behind league-leading Texas-Pan American and second-place Northern Colorado, with two home series and two road series left on the schedule. Both road series are against UTPA and NC.

Chicago State, which will join UVU in the WAC next season, dropped three of four against Northern Colorado in a series played at Illinois Chicago. The Cougars (6-26, 3-9) are led by first-year head coach Steve Joslyn.

Utah Valley hosts BYU next Tuesday in the final non-conference game of the season. From there the Wolverines head to Northern Colorado for a series starting Friday, May 3.
