OREM, Utah --
Utah Valley University returns home to Brent Brown Ballpark this week to host Texas-Pan American in a three-game Western Athletic Conference series beginning Friday night at 6 p.m. MT. Saturday is schedule for a 6 p.m. first pitch with Sunday's final game at noon.

The Wolverines (13-18, 6-3) have won six straight entering the series including a three-game sweep at Chicago State in a WAC series last week. Two wins over Bakersfield and a midweek win at BYU started the six-game streak. UVU has also won its last three weekend series.

At Chicago State, Andrew Freter and Ryan Evans both had quality starts in helping the Wolverines to the first two wins in the series. Evans pitched 6.2 innings and didn't allow an earned run in the middle game of the series. Over his last two starts, the senior right-hander has pitched 14.1 innings without surrendering an earned run.

Devin Nelson came out of the bullpen to get the win in the final game of the series, giving him his second win of the week after a victory at BYU.

Texas-Pan American (13-23, 3-6) will put right-hander Sam Street on the mound on Friday night. Street is 7-0 with a 1.70 ERA and has thrown five complete games including an 11-strikeout, 1-0 shutout win over Northwestern. He also has a win this year over Oklahoma State. Last season, Street pitched a two-hit shutout in the Broncs' first-ever win over Utah Valley on May 16.

Utah Valley travels to Sacramento State next week for a three-game league series that runs Thursday, April 17 thru Saturday, April 19. The Hornets enter this week unbeaten in the WAC.
