OREM, Utah -- Utah Valley University baseball makes the short trip north to face Utah on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Smith's Ballpark in Salt Lake City. The game marks the first of three meetings between the in-state foes this season. The teams will also play on April 14 in Salt Lake City and on May 5 in Orem.
The Wolverines (4-15) dropped three of four at Creighton over the weekend, in a series that took place at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, home of the College World Series. Utah Valley won game two of a Saturday doubleheader, with both games resulting in one-run contests. In their 2-1 win, UVU freshman

Utah (6-12) opened Pac-12 play at Arizona and took two of three from the Wildcats, including a 9-8 come-from-behind win on Sunday after trailing by seven runs. The Utes (6-12) scored five in the eighth and four in the ninth in taking the series. Utah also took two of three at Big 12 Kansas in its previous series and has won four of five overall. The Utes opened the year at WAC Champion Sacramento State and dropped three of four.

Utah Valley begins WAC play this weekend at Seattle University. The series begins Friday at 5 p.m. PT/6 p.m. MT from Bannerwood Park in Bellevue, Wash.
