OREM, Utah --
Utah Valley University heads to Colorado this weekend for a three-game WAC series at Northern Colorado followed by a non-conference game at Air Force. The series at NC begins on Saturday with a noon MT doubleheader, which is a change from the earlier schedule due to inclement weather expected on Friday. The series concludes on Sunday at noon. Monday's game at Air Force is slated for 2 p.m. MT.

Weather has affected the entire week's schedule for Utah Valley, with rain forcing the cancellation of Tuesday's game at Utah on Tuesday. The Wolverines enter the weekeend series at Northern Colorado having won their last three WAC series (at CSU Bakersfield, vs Chicago State, vs Sacramento State).

The series marks the first time Utah Valley and Northern Colorado have met at Jackson Field, both as members of the WAC. Last time the teams met in Greeley was the final season of Great West Conference play, where they split a four-game series. UVU swept the series between the teams last year at Brent Brown Ballpark, in the first season of WAC baseball for both schools.

Utah Valley has a 7-6 mark in 13 games against Air Force all-time, but Monday's game marks the first contest between the teams since the 2009 season, when the two split a four-game series in Orem.

The Wolverines notched their third straight WAC series win, taking two of three from last year's league champion and preseason favorite Sacramento State. The Wolverines won the opener, 12-3, behind a quick offensive start and a strong finish from Danny Beddes, who pitched the team's first complete game of the year.

Northern Colorado dropped a midweek at Air Force, 17-4, on Tuesday on the road. The Bears (9-20, 6-6) have lost five straight overall. It's been feast or famine for Northern Colorado so far in the WAC season. The Bears swept Chicago State home, lost three at home to North Dakota, won all three at New Mexico State and then, most recently, were swept at Grand Canyon.

Prior to its win over Northern Colorado, Air Force was swept in a Mountain West series at New Mexico. The Falcons host Fresno State prior to Monday's game against the Wolverines, where Air Force has gone 8-1 so far this season.

At Monday's game, both teams will be wearing a teal ribbon on their helmets in support of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.  The theme of the game is "Eliminate Sexual Assault. Know Your Part. Do Your Part." Academy Superintendent Lt. Gen. Michelle Johnson will be in attendance and will open the game with a message to fans in attendance. In addition, Dean of Faculty Brig. Gen. Andrew Armacost and the Commandant of Cadets, Brig. Gen. Stephen Williams, will throw out the first pitch.

The Wolverines host Grand Canyon to begin an eight-game homestand the wraps with the May 5 contest against Utah. The Wolverines host GCU beginning Friday, April 24 in Orem in a three-game league series.
