OREM, Utah — Utah Valley head baseball coach
Nate Rasmussen has announced the addition of Brady Malpass to his coaching staff for the 2026-27 season. Malpass will work with the Wolverines' catchers and joins the program after spending time at Azusa Pacific University as both a player and, most recently, a graduate assistant.
"We are thrilled to bring Brady into the Den!" Rasmussen said. "Brady has a passion for catching, and our team is going to benefit greatly from him joining our program! I look forward to watching our catchers steal strikes for our pitchers!"
Malpass previously served as a graduate assistant at Azusa Pacific for two seasons. During that time, he also spent time with the Cleveland Guardians in 2024 as an assistant coaching fellow. In 2025, he coached in the Cape Cod Baseball League with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox.
As a collegiate athlete, Malpass played four years as an infielder at Azusa Pacific. He was a four-time Academic All-PacWest selection and helped lead the Cougars to a super-regional appearance in 2022 and the PacWest Conference title in 2023. Azusa Pacific also advanced to NCAA regionals in back-to-back seasons during his career.
