OREM, Utah -- Utah Valley University wraps up the regular season with a three-game series at Texas-Pan American beginning Thursday at 7 p.m. CT/6 p.m. MT. All three games can be seen on the WAC Digital Network with Friday slated for a 6 p.m. CT and Saturday a noon CT first pitch.

The Wolverines (17-31, 13-11) are currently tied with North Dakota in the league standings and hold the tiebreaker, which would give them the No. 4 seed if the tournament were to begin today. UVU can still mathematically finish anywhere from No. 2 to No. 6 in the seedings.

Utah Valley won the final two games of a three-game WAC series at North Dakota last weekend. Two freshmen pitchers notched their first career wins in starts during the series. Jackson Cofer picked up the win last Saturday after a 6.0 inning performance where he didn't allow an earned run. That win secured the Wolverines' berth in next week's WAC Tournament. Kaden Schmitt notched his first win in Sunday's series-clinching victory. Schmitt pitched 7.0 innings and allowed two runs while another freshman, Jake Marvos, hit a three-run home run for his first career round tripper. Mark Krueger batted .500 in the series, going 7-for-14 with two doubles and a triple.

This weekend marks the final series of the season for Texas-Pan American, which will see a name change this summer to The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, or UTRGV, with the new nickname the Vaqueros. The Broncs struggled out of the gates in the WAC season and couldn't recover and did not qualify for the postseason tournament. UTPA is 19-29-1 overall and 4-19-1 in conference play.  Logan Landon is among the WAC leaders in several categories, batting .376 with eight home runs, 14 doubles, 45 RBIs and 17 stolen bases.

The WAC Tournament begins Wednesday at Hohokam Park in Mesa, Arizona. If the Wolverines finish as the No. 4 or No. 5 seed, they'll open the double elimination tournament at 3 p.m. PT/4 p.m. MT. If they are the No. 3 or the No. 6 seed, they'll play at 7 p.m. PT/8 p.m. MT. The top two seeds have a bye in the opening round.
